Cindy Update

Hello friends!!!!
I'm so excited to try this idea. I think it will help us stay in touch with one another. But you know nothing can replace a good phone conversation!

Everything in California is going well. It's finally starting to cool off. Last week it was a beautiful 65-75 degrees. This made me happy as I was beginning to worry it would never be cooler than 90 degrees :) Oh, and the other day, there was some water that came down from the sky. I think it's called rain. I have not witnessed rain since I arrived in California (5 months ago) so it was happiness.

Work is going ok. Lot's to do. I'm looking forward to our team retreat in South Carolina. I'll be headed there in a couple of weeks. Exciting!

Social life is still slow, but I've made some connections through my church involvement. I'm teaching a confirmation class and I really like my high school students. They are good kids :) I'm also planning to volunteer with an FFA chapter here in Bakersfield. That should be fun. I miss FFA and 4-H. Side note: I tried to volunteer w/ the 4-H county and they thought I was some type of weirdo criminal who needed volunteer hours. So I switched to volunteering for FFA.

Love life is still...non-existent. Unless you count the time a guy walked out of the elevator reading something with his head down and ran right into me and awkwardly kissed my shoulder. Yea...it was pretty hot. That's about all the action I've been getting :)

Hey big news from Chapman, KS...I was talking to my mom today and she told me that Extreme MakeOver Home Edition is coming to Chapman to rebuild a home that was destroyed in the tornado!!! Wahoo for the fighting Irish! Please continue to keep our hometown in your prayers as they work to continuously rebuild.

Ok my friends. I hope to read all about your lives very soon. I love you all and hope your lives are going well! P.S. I think this would be a good idea to also submit any prayer requests you have. If there is something you need extra prayers or positive thoughts for, post it and we'll start praying.
